Popular Lighthouse instructor, novelist, and writer’s coach Doug Kurtz led an interactive session that explored where creativity comes from, what impedes it, and why the myth of the depressed, addicted writer is foolish and detrimental to one’s creative life. He bravely led us with interactive exercises to identify something specific that’s in the way of our creative output—a bad relationship, media overdose, negative thinking, whatever—and then helped us set workable, attainable resolutions to eliminate those impediments. It was a great way to begin a new year on the right (write?) foot.
